DON'T SHOOT

‚Äč

As part of an ekphrastic exhibition with the Soldiers Hill Artist Collective and Words Out Loud I produced this image. The theme was 'Weathering the future' and it was meant to be about climate change but the Sante Fe shootings had just occurred and I wanted to make a statement about school shootings in the USA. This image was the result. If there are going to be changes to gun laws in the States then it will be the generation of students who led those protests who are going to make that change. Whichever way that goes in the future, whether or not change does occur, they are the generation who will reap the results.

This image is a collage and the photograph on the left is not mine, I photographed it from a newspaper cutting. As I do not know the photographer I cannot acknowledge their work as I would like.
